The Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation (CIPEC) has been an industry-government partnership since 1975.  It promotes voluntary actions to reduce industrial energy intensity and encourages adoption of energy efficiency as a tool to cut costs, improve productivity, and reduce GHG emissions.

CIPEC objectives are to improve industrial energy intensity and reduce energy related industrial greenhouse gas emissions, by supporting activities that help industry develop the capacity to identify and implement energy saving projects and practices.

The CFA has partnered with CIPEC since 1999. In 2003, this partnership provided the Guide to Energy Efficiency Opportunities in Canada Foundries.  In 2011, it provided the Energy Benchmarking Study for Canadian Foundries.

For information on incentives and other tools and services provided by CIPEC, please go to:  www.cipec.ca
