The Code of Practice (COP) was completed in 2010.
Foundries have begun the process of registering for the Foundries – Industry
Standard.
The next step on the technical standard journey will be the
implementation of the requirements of the Foundries – Industry
Standard at registered facilities.
CFA continues to monitor Ministry of Environment (MOE) recently
proposed amendments to O. Reg. 419/05 and associated
lobby efforts by Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME).
Through association with CME, the CFA has also continued to lobby
with the MOE with respect to
O. Reg 455/09 Toxics Reduction Act.
The CFA Environment Committee also continued to participate with
the MOE Certificate of Approval (CofA) Modernization
initiative. The next roundtable will be scheduled for later in May
or June 2011.
