The Code of Practice (COP)  was completed in 2010.

Foundries have begun the process of registering for the Foundries – Industry Standard.

The next step on the technical standard journey will be the implementation of the requirements of the Foundries – Industry Standard at registered facilities.

CFA continues to monitor Ministry of Environment (MOE) recently proposed amendments to O. Reg. 419/05 and associated lobby efforts by Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME).

Through association with CME, the CFA has also continued to lobby with the MOE with respect to
O. Reg 455/09 Toxics Reduction Act.

The CFA Environment Committee also continued to participate with the MOE Certificate of Approval (CofA) Modernization initiative. The next roundtable will be scheduled for later in May or June 2011.
