What is the Safety Group Program What are the Rewards Key Issues & Programs

The Canadian Foundry Association (CFA) sponsors the Safety Group Program.

What is the Safety Group Program?

The Safety Groups Program is an initiative by the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses.

The program is designed to reward firms that incorporate injury prevention measures into their daily business.  Under the Safety Groups program firms realize many benefits that they may not normally have, including access to proven health and safety best practices, training and resources.

Firms volunteer to participate in the Safety Group to learn from each other in implementing injury and illness prevention programs.  The firms then benefit collectively from the program rewards.  A well-integrated workplace health and safety program makes good business sense.

What are the rewards?

  • Assist your company in complying with the OSHA and Regulations
  • Reduce lost time injury frequency and severity rates
  • Networking opportunities
  • 12 month deferral of Work Well Audit
  • Help reduce your WSIB premium rate
  • Participate in the potential for an additional WSIB rebate
